So I think Gastropubs are supposed to have good food, right? Well...whatever a Gastropub is....The West End (a new bar in the galleria area) had DELICIOUS wings and sweet potato fries, all at a relatively affordable price. Leaney and I ordered 12 wings and a basket of sweet potato fries for $15, and topped ourselves off with a few glasses of chardonnay and the "more cowbell" Buffalo Brewery IPA. The wings were plump, full of flavor (a hint of curry in the jerk sauce), and perfectly spicy (the mild was spicy, but not too spicy). The sweet potato fries were some of the best fries I've ever had (perfectly crispy, and perfectly salted). The "more cowbell" IPA was delicious (credit to their Rice U founder)...and only 3 glasses got me a damn good buzz. All in all, a great nightcap to a long and confusing week for this gluttonous Chinaman.
