Last week, Leaney and I made our way to the Bahamas for a few days and nights of R&R.  We decided to try the all-inclusive thing and stay at a Sandals resort (the Royal Bahamian) which ended up being a pretty good deal compared to the Atlantis (which we also considered). After arriving around 2:30 pm on our free shuttle (otherwise $30), we enjoyed a few glasses of free champagne before checking into our room (pretty solid view of the Atlantic!).  We then walked around the resort to get ourselves situated before getting ready for our first night's dinner at the resort's Hibachi restaurant, Kimonos. 

Once we were seated, we were given a pretty large menu of choices before we were told that we would get to try everything on the menu.  We started off with the appetizer plate, which consisted of vegetable tempura and a couple of pieces of sushi (philly roll & shrimp tempura roll).  The tempura was excellent, and the sushi was good, so my recommendation for this joint is to ask for more sushi before they start up the grill.  We didn't know this until day 2, but you can basically ask for more of whatever these restaurants are serving, even if its off a menu, as opposed to buffet style.

Next up was a ton of meat.  After the hibachi chef told us he was "Blackanese", he served us a bunch of chicken, steak, shrimp and mahi mahi to go with some fried rice.  The quality of the food was on par with any hibachi you would visit in the states, with our only regret being not taking ALL of the extra shrimp on the table.  After washing down dinner with some dessert and about 5 glasses  of wine, Leaney and I sat on the beach and just chilled our for the next couple of hours before eventually heading to bed.  Turns out there's not much night-life when you're at an all-inclusive couples resort, other than some random stuff going on here and there (like "the dating show game" in the main stage area, which I found incredibly corny). Definitely a good start to vacation.
