Day 2 started with Leaney and I waking up and heading out to the beach for some R&R. After we grabbed some drinks (my standard during the day was a double pina colada) and hung out more at the pool, we got dressed up and went to our second dinner @ the resort. We started dinner with a bowl of seafood bisque and a couple of crab cakes, before we each moved on to the lobster dinner. I was told by a random woman at the pool that I should order the lobster dinner (w/ an extra tail), which I certainly did not have any objections against. The lobster tails were very decently sized, and topped off with a delicious lemon butter cream. Maybe I should have gone 1 tail and filet instead...but I definitely didn't regret going a bit lighter, considering all of the excess meals we were having during the day and late at night. Excellent dinner...probably the second best on the trip (barely behind the steak I would have on day 3, and slightly ahead of the beef tenderloin I would have on day 4).
After dinner, Leaney and I went to the "chill bar" (just a few people, drinking and chatting) and had 3-4 glasses of wine before jumping in a cab to ATLANTIS. I won about $150 gambling on night 1 @ Atlantis, but was severely raked by a $50 roundtrip cab ride (only 5 miles away) and forgetting to cash in a $25 chip...which meant we had to either let it go, or pay $50 to go back on another day (effectively a half-priced discount on cabs). Needless to say, we returned to Atlantis on night number 4...which is definitely as good (if not better) of a casino than you would see in Las Vegas. In a weird way, Atlantis reminded me of Disney World because of its PERFECTLY manicured exterior, and of the Bellagio inside because of its top-notch gaming area and stiff drinks (plenty of $10 and $15 games on the floor, too). On the downside, we did hear that most of the activities (like the water park) and the food is VERY expensive on-site.
I appreciate all of the information that you have shared. Thank you for the hard work!
